Dominique received her MFA in painting from Wayne State University, Detroit Michigan in 2017. Her undergraduate work was done in the seventies at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, after which she continued to paint commissions. Feeling the need to expand her artistic conversation, she entered the graduate program in 2013.

Dominique’s artistic practice examines the imprint of environment on individual identity. Her artistic style reflects training in photography and a strong European tradition of oil painting. Dominique immigrated to the San Francisco Bay Area with her parents in the late fifties, spending time between France and California throughout her childhood. Besides traveling extensively throughout Europe, the artist also lived briefly in Mexico. Dominique currently lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Dominique’s work examines the influence our physical environment has on our self-perceptions, paying particular attention to the historic artifacts that trigger our imaginary connections.
